Our first week back is all about resetting our goals, making good choices, and celebrating our students through positive referrals. We are proud of our students for starting the year strong and showing responsibility, kindness, and respect.
We are also grateful for the Clayton Police Department for their continued support of our students and families. Enjoy some pictures from the past year that highlight their efforts to laugh with our kids and serve our school community. They help our families feel safe, supported, and cared for every day.
Thank you, Clayton PD, for all that you do for our school community. 💙💛

Dear Herma Simmons Families,
I am writing to inform you about an emergency drill that was conducted at school today out of an abundance of caution. At approximately 2:35PM, local law enforcement was responding to a situation in a nearby area. Although there was no direct threat to our school, we worked closely with the police and made the proactive decision to implement a brief emergency secure drill to ensure the safety of our students and staff. The drill was called off promptly once law enforcement advised that it was safe to do so, and normal school operations resumed immediately.
All students and staff are safe and the drill was conducted calmly and efficiently. We are grateful to our students for following directions and to our staff for their professionalism and care throughout the process. The safety of our school community is always our top priority. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Sincerely,
Alicia Fragoso
Principal
